aww dang,
definitely dang.
I shouldn’t complain, this car has been cheating the crusher since before I was born. ( I think it was quite badly wrecked in about 1975, there is still evidence) The thing is It was fine before I messed with it. I changed out the coolant because it had been in there for more years than it should have in any car. I figured I should do the thermostat as well because it was the right thing to do. Can’t blame a 55 year old, cheap car for breaking. But I still feel bad that I broke it.

If you're gonna suffer self inflicted damage that's not a terrible way to go. Could have been far worse anyway.

Don’t feel bad, it’s amazingly easy to crack those things even when they aren’t 55 years old.

That’s a beautiful thing all on it’s own. With everything engineered to death these days the thought of grabbing a part from a v8 model and expecting it to work in any capacity on the same companies 6 would be highly unlikely at best. You’d be mothballed until the parts came in. At least in the olden-days you could cobble it back together and get back to work.

Is this the 66 Chevelle I presume? Hopefully the replacement is cheap and easy to find!
